Have you always wanted to be an educator or administrator? Classes in general education could lead to a new or advanced career in this rewarding field.

Education degrees offer a wide variety of job prospects. Teachers offer instruction to children of all ages as well as college and vocational students in private and public educational institutions. Administrators oversee and manage individual schools, districts or colleges and universities.

An education degree provides opportunities to share your knowledge and directly affect the future of children and adults. Teachers and administrative candidates typically demonstrate communication skills, strong organizational abilities and a desire to continue learning as they work in their profession.

Elementary and secondary teachers usually hold at least a bachelor’s degree, while college and university instructors have a master’s or doctorate degree. States also require teachers to pass a certification test and earn continuing education credits. Administrators almost always have at least a master’s degree, teaching experience and certification.
