Histotechnology Degree

Histotechnology is a branch of biomedical science that deals with the preparation of tissue samples for microscopic examination. Though it’s sometimes called medical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology, the work is carried out by histotechnologists (HTLs).

The work involves laboratory procedures that are needed to diagnose disease in patients: from cutting thin slices of tissue used to analyze individual components, to keeping detailed records for sample identification, to staining the samples to make them more visible under a microscope.
